Rebecca Laing

Rebecca qualified as an occupational therapist in June 1991, having completed a three year degree course at Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh.  Since qualifying she has been employed as an occupational therapist within the National Health Service, for nine years with six of these at Senior I level.

The majority of Rebecca's experience has been in the assessment and treatment of elderly patients but she has worked with patients of all ages in an acute setting.  She has a personal interest in working with neurologically impaired clients.  Rebecca has been involved in establishing a new community based Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme.  In February 1998 she was appointed with the key task of setting up a new Elderly Outreach Team, and established the occupational therapy role in this new team, which involved liaising with primary care teams and community colleagues regarding interface of the new team. Rebecca has been with Case Management Services for four years. She is state registered with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine, and is also a member of The British Association of Occupational Therapists.
