Laura Clancy

Laura qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2003 (PgDip), having completed an MA (Social Sciences) from the University of Glasgow in 2000. Following graduation she worked for a year in Australia where she gained her initial experience in neurological and general elderly rehabilitation. Upon her return to the UK she worked within an inpatient setting; covering orthopaedics, cardio-respiratory and general surgery wards. Since 2005 Laura has worked within a community setting, offering case management, rehabilitation and providing equipment and major adaptations. Within this role she has worked with a variety of client groups with a multitude of disabilities, in particular stroke patients, amputees and the elderly. She is highly competent in assessing care needs and implementing rehabilitation programmes to increase client independence. She has a keen interest in vocational rehabilitation and manual handling. She is an accredited person handling facilitator. Laura has worked with Case Management Services since 2009 in the assessment of needs in clients with brain injury.
