From 8th May – 6th June CMS hosted 10 students and their lecturer Dr Therese O’Neil Pirozzi from Northeastern University in Boston, USA. The group were a mixture of Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Psychology students. During their 5 weeks in Scotland they spent time at various brain injury services and learned of the differences between services in the UK and the USA. Thank you to everyone who participated in the student’s visit to Scotland, especially the staff from Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Digby Brown Solicitors, Astley Ainslie Hospital, Headway Edinburgh and Compass Brain Injury Specialists. The students had an amazing time learning about the different services and gained a great deal of experience from the time they spent at all their placements. It wasn’t all work, work, work. The students got the chance to explore Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Ness. The weather was certainly on the groups side throughout their stay and especially on the day they all went canoeing on Loch Ness which turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year. We wish them all the best of luck with the rest of their studies and thank you for being such an enthusiastic and delightful group.
