CMS Coronavirus Update

March 20, 2020 Tags: ,

The Coronavirus has created unprecedented uncertainty and changes to our personal and working lives. We all find ourselves adapting to a new “normal” every day.

Our role as a rehabilitation provider is about supporting clients to make adaptions to our clients everyday life, working within limitations and finding creative and alternative ways to achieve sometimes the simplest of tasks. This is what the team at CMS do best and so we are continuing business as usual, albeit with some adaptations.

Ensuring client and staff health and well-being has been our priority. This has involved contacting all our clients, undertaking risk assessments and devising contingency care and rehab plans to ensure client welfare. This will be an ongoing priority for us as we work through the various challenges we will face over the coming months.

We have also set up for home working for all staff and implemented a staff wellbeing support service. Without a healthy team you have no service. All staff have been trained in the current guidelines set out by Health Protection Scotland to manage COVID-19 and have access to various online resources and video conferencing.

These steps will allow us to keep in contact with clients, continue case management, provide treatment and complete assessments wherever possible. The current situation is fluid and we will adapt our working practices according to government guidelines. Even with a proposed “lockdown” being intimated we have contingencies in place and will continue working.

Do not hesitate to contact our team with any queries.

All the very best from the CMS team,

Michaela McGowan
