Case Management and Rehabilitation
Life After Serious Injury
Following very serious injury, an individual’s life can totally change. This may include their role within the family, the work they used to do, leisure pursuits and sports they used to enjoy and daily interactions with family, friends and colleagues. In many cases, for the individual and family, it can feel as if their lives are on hold. To move forward and restore order when faced with so many difficulties can feel overwhelming and be a major undertaking for all concerned.
What are the rehabilitation options?
For some individuals, with the most severe injuries, a period of in-patient rehabilitation is recommended. However, for many individuals, receiving rehabilitation in their own home and community offers major advantages and can be a more appealing option. Community based rehabilitation can be delivered as the main form of rehabilitation or as a second stage following in-patient treatment.
